Slazenger Doherty Tennis Racquet

1915 -International stars and tales of great matches would spread from club to club. Often news of the new national champion would take weeks to travel to isolated lawn tennis courts around the world. One name, Doherty, would be constantly on the minds of tennis lovers. The English brothers were practically undefeated from 1897 to 1906.  They propelled a little know garden party (Wimbledon) into an international extravaganza. Their name appeared on racquets and sold because of the style and quality that these superstars were known for. Additionally, these patented shoulders (shaped like a heart) of parchment supports were wrapped around the frame near the throat to give even greater feel.
