Wright & Ditson Open Throat |
1929 - A more common version of the open throat design, this racquet was popular through out the 1920's and 1930's. The real players swore by the lighter solid feel. Bill Tilden, the first giant of the golden age of tennis, was almost always pictured with one, both in his amateur and professional days. The colorful and streamlined frame, reflecting the roaring twenties' Art Deco design, is what makes these racquets a favorite of collectors. |
